Michael Samah was born on July 5, 1988. He always found happiness in sharing the little he had with others. While in school in Nairobi, Kenya he was receiving a little monthly allowance from his beloved father, Dr. George B. Samah. Michael used most of the money given him to support his friends in need. Prior to moving to Ireland, the late Michael spent 7 months with his father in Bujumbura, Burundi, East Africa while his father was serving with the World Health Organization, UN Burundi regional office. During Michael stay, he was still supporting his friends financially from whatever monies he received from his father. At one point his father discovered he was transferring or wiring money to Kenya. When his father asked him why he was transferring money, Michael smiled and clearly stated to his father that the child who he constantly supported was in need. He also told his father that he had been helping this child in the past and will want to continue what he had started. This was his lifestyle, and as parents and family, we want to respect his will. We believe that Michael will be proud of his good will and continuing to do what he started. By launching this Education Foundation (MICHAEL SAMAH EDUCATION FOUNDATION) in his honor his legacy will live on.
At the funeral and thanksgiving service of Michael Samah, Mrs. Elizabeth Scott-Nyenlekewoi (Michael's mother) was so moved by the power of the Holy Spirit that she pledge to financially sponsor a needy student (Anthony Kokoi) through high school. It is out of this generosity that the idea of the Michael Samah Education Foundation (MSEF) was established. We currently have one student as beneficiary. We intend to register the foundation in the United States, Ireland and Liberia in the near future.
The foundation was officially launched by the family, colleagues, friends, brothers and sisters in Christ of the late Michael Samah during his first memorial celebration in Ireland.
Michael Samah Education Foundation is a 501 ( c ) 3 Non-profit organization. Our mission is to keep alive the legacy and dream of Michael Samah by helping the underprivileged and less fortunate children in society. When Michael was a little boy growing up in Kenya and up to the time of his sudden death in Ireland, he sponsored little children in school with his allowances. Michael was a good boy with a kind heart. Our mission is to keep this good will alive by providing assistance to little children in Africa who cannot afford educational resources due to poverty.
Our vision is building a community where people believe in dedication and commitment to improving the lives of children through educational outreach initiatives and support.
Our focus is providing scholarships to underprivileged children in developing countries, specifically in Africa and teaching children social values.
The MSEF is an action-driven organization that is dedicated to the development of youth, healthy living and promoting social responsibility. We focus on creating healthy living for children and improving our community through education outreach activities, promoting social responsibility, giving back and providing support to the needy.
Currently, the Foundation is sponsoring Anthony Kokoi in Monrovia. Anthony completed high school in 2014 and is now a sophomore student at the University of Liberia, majoring in mass communication with emphasis in journalism. The foundation recently enhanced its program when a proposal was made for 14 additional students to be added to its sponsorship list.
When you give to the MSEF, you continue to strengthen the world community by providing help to one less fortunate child who may otherwise be left behind. Your gift will have a meaningful, enduring impact right in your own neighborhood. At the MSEF, no child or family is turned away. We recognize that for communities to succeed, everyone must be given an opportunity
